Games

French language games and other French language learning methods can be found at TV5.org. Some of the games and their descriptions are listed below.

  • mots-maxi is an addictive game that presents the player with 10 random letters, with which the player must create as many words as possible. Words must contain a minimum of 4 letters, and the more letters a word contains the more points it earns. Feminine and plural forms of words don't count. A game ends once the player has arrived at 10 different words. There is no penalty for entering an invalid word, so players can try out words they may not know for sure are real. All valid words the player comes up with can be clicked on for their definitions. A fun way to learn new words!
  • dico-mot is played somewhat like Wheel of Fortune but is much easier, involving only 1 word.
  • crypto-phrase is also similar to Wheel of Fortune, but players guess 2 adjacent letters at a time. As the name of the game suggests, the player must uncover a famous phrase or quote (whose original utterer is provided as a hint).
  • mots mêlés is essentially a word search game.
